A recent article in This is Money suggests that poor service is costing British business £7.3billion a month. We are paying for this.
Readers will be familiar with call queues, inexperienced operators, foreign call centres and all the rest of the nonsense that goes with it. Listening to music for an age ought to be on headphones and not via a telecall.
A report will shortly reveal 69 per cent of workers deal with failings in service – for which their own and other firms are responsible. The report based on the latest UK Customer Satisfaction Index will show that employees are, on average, spending four days sorting out the mess. The cost of service failings amounts to £7.3billion in wages a month, or £87.6billion a year.
The time spent on dealing with poor service is increasing. Standards are slipping at a time when the economy is under pressure, with UK productivity 18 per cent below that of the US.
And here’s the rub – we are paying for this and it is set to become worse. When the new national insurance hikes come in, in April 2025, employers will reduce staff, employ staff of continuing poor quality and/or increase prices. It’s difficult enough trying to get the right help – sometimes everything seems to be a battle.
At Farm & Country Finance, we understand the frustration of poor customer service. That’s why we ensure that when you need to discuss a farm loan, farm mortgage, or land loan, you’ll speak directly to one of our partners, Mark Bracegirdle or Mark Andrew. You’ll rarely experience hold music, and we make it easy to contact us with a freephone number and quick links on every page of our website http://www.farmandcountryfinance.co.uk
Finding the right farm finance is not easy and so why should it be made any more difficult to talk to us about it.
May you always prosper.
