 PERSONAL PROFILE MARK BRACEGIRDLE

"I am a little older than Mark A and reached my half century in 2006. I was born in Wilmslow where the old man had a thriving garage business. After leaving school and after college I hadn't a clue what I wanted to do and had one or more jobs. I worked in a greengrocers and assembled gas meters for while before deciding that I needed to be a little more serious.
Mark Bracegirdle
For some reason, I chose accountancy and qualified as a Chartered CertifiedAccountant in 1985, but you needn’t worry about me being the typical accountant - that I am certainly not, which is probably why I am doing what I am doing now. What my qualification does is give our customers the benefit of knowing that they are doing business with professionals.

As Mark A has said, I reached the dizzy old heights of Commercial Director for a machinery importer but got fed up with the routine and wanted something a bit different. So, in 1990 I started a finance broking business and this has continued, in different forms, to where I am now. I was late getting hitched and married Louise, a farmer's daughter, also in 1990.

I am often asked why I continue to operate the business in the way that I have since 1990 - that is in a small and hands on way. The answer is simple but two-fold; firstly, it is important that our customers deal with the organ grinders and secondly, my closeness to home has meant being able to watch my kids grow up. Money isn't everything and is only a means to an end. What matters to me is quality of life, which is why when we help customers we see things in how what we do will improve their lot."

Bringing Mark A into the organisation was the right thing to do. Not only is he a friend who I can trust to be a chip off the old block but he shares the same values of honesty and integrity that I believe are integral to our success.

Mark and I love the countryside and what it means to us all. We know why people want to live in the country and what makes rural folk tick. When you talk to us, you won't find it like talking to the bank manager or a lawyer but real people with whom you can do business; people who are ready to listen and, more importantly, to share your problems, hopes and dreams; all delivered with a dose of humour (where appropriate).

We're on your side - try us you'll like us.

 PERSONAL PROFILE – MARK ANDREW

I was born in 1962 and have always lived in Knutsford, a market town in Cheshire.

At the age of sixteen, I started working for what was then the Trustee Savings Bank now Lloyds TSB. After ten years and several promotions I left to join Royal Bank of Scotland in their asset finance business and stayed there

for seven years. He has worked for several major banks, over the intervening years, including Alliance and Leicester and latterly Fortis who are a major European Bank.

Mark eventually became a little disillusioned with the large company mentality (those of you who have a bank overdraft will know what I mean) and needed a new direction.

“It is said that everything happens for a reason and during one of my cold calls I came across Mark Bracegirdle in 1988 where he was Commercial Director for a print machinery importer. He became a good contact and then a close friend. It was inevitable that we would do something together, which is why I found myself teaming up with him in November 2006.

In Mark B, I have found someone completely trustworthy and I have been impressed with the ethical way in which he does business, his knowledge and his expertise.

My own wealth of banking and asset finance experience and my own insistence upon the core values of integrity and trust makes us extremely compatible.”
